Upload rules

MyShots is focused on high quality shots. Your photos need to be extraordinary, in a certain way. We are not interested in personal galleries, that includes familiy pics which you can find on flickr.

Please compare your images to the quality standard, that you can find in our gallery. Be objective and judge your own picture that way.
We are looking for photos that are creative, interesting and useful at the same time. They should be large (if possible a lot larger than the miminum resolution), sharp and good exposure.
Good composition and good quality is a must.

IMPORTANT:
MyShots reserves the right to delete your images at any time without giving a reason, if it does not go in line with these rules! Please do not be offended, it is just a measurement that is necessary to guarantee high quality on MyShots. We do this for YOU - the community.

Should you have any concerns to whether your image will fit the upload rules, you can either discard that image, as it may not likely be accepted or contact us and just ask.

1.1 Minimum requirements

• file format: JPEG (RGB)
• maximum file size: 8 megabytes
• minimum dimensions: 800*600 pixels (horizontal) or 600*800 pixels (vertical)

• Remove noise
  
  Some compact digital cameras produce heavy image noise, especially at high ISO settings. Please go through your photos with software like Neat Image or Noise Ninja. They do an amazing job!
  
  
• Adjust brightness and levels
  
  Please make sure your photos are properly lit, and that they are not over- or underexposed.
  
  
• Rotate the photo if necessary
  
  We will reject it if they are upside down or rotated in the wrong direction.
  
  
• Adjust the compostion
  
  Get rid of distracting elements and unnecessary parts. Fix tilted horizontals and bad centering. Remove frames, texts, dates and watermarks.
  
  
• Remove copyrighted content
  
  MYSHOTS does not allow photos that contain logos and trademarks (apart from a few images where it can't be avoided). Before uploading please edit these out from your photos.
  
  

• family images (reunions, parties, events and so forth). Everyone loves their family, but other people are usually not interested in seeing your baby or pet
• photos with any text, timestamp or watermark
• photos with frames
• photos containing copyrighted material (paintings, posters, advertisements, cd / book / dvd covers, logos)
• adult / violent content
• photos with excessive blur, noise or bad JPEG quality
• photos that are too dark or badly lit
• photos rotated into the wrong direction
• photos where the subject is too small or barely visible
